This month, I would like to highlight two of the many classes we offer at FESS. Dynamic Dads, and The Impact of Domestic Violence on Children (IDV). Our Dynamic Dads class is a favorite for many fathers (even the ones who don’t think they will learn anything). The way we know this is by receiving feedback from those who complete the 14-week course. We are very proud of our instructors and the students for creating such safe spaces to talk about hard things.

Here are some examples of what people are saying about Dynamic Dads:

“Throughout this class, I have learned so much from other dads. I was angry that I had to take it, but the instructor was right; once you learn that others may feel the same way, you start to build trust and share more.”

“The instructor is innovative and non-judgmental; I appreciated learning about child development and the teenage brain.”

“Thank you. Thank you for showing up for us. Thank you for building us up. Thank you for being honest when we are saying something stupid or unhelpful. Thank you for not judging where we come from. Just thank you for being kind”

The instructors for our Impact of Domestic Violence seminar are creating safe places for others to learn each month. This is a topic that can be very difficult to talk about and/or hear others talk about, so safety for everyone is at the forefront of what we do. Here are some examples of what people are saying about The Impact of Domestic Violence on Children seminar:

“The instructor was awesome, he did great, I actually learned more than I thought I would so thank you.”

“The most helpful part of the class was to keep my kids safe and not cause or involve family violence around my children ever again and I’ll use the key tools I learned to help with that.”

“What I learned most was how our children pick up on our relationships and how we carry ourselves and our relationships is how they will carry their future relationships.

We are excited to continue this work we do, offering hope, guidance, education, and encouragement to those we serve. If you know someone who might benefit from any of our classes, or you have questions, please give us a call!
