Family Education and Support Services (FESS) is celebrated as one of the Best in the Northwest because of their unwavering commitment to strengthening families and communities through evidence-based practices, early prevention, and community-led solutions. This trusted nonprofit goes beyond traditional programming by listening deeply to both individual and community voices and responding with innovative, evidence-based strategies rooted in compassion, science, and equity.
Grounded in the nationally recognized Strengthening Families Framework, FESS works upstream to prevent crisis before it starts, focusing on reducing risk factors and building protective factors such as family resilience, social supports, and access to concrete supports in times of need. Their trauma-informed, culturally-responsive, and prevention-focused services are designed for all adults who influence child well-being, whether they are parents, grandparents, caregivers, and/or community professionals, because FESS knows that strengthening families strengthens the entire community.
What truly sets FESS apart is their unwavering commitment to collaboration and adaptability. Whether serving urban or rural communities, FESS partners closely with schools, tribal nations, health systems, and grassroots organizations to ensure that every service offered reflects local strengths, values, and needs.
